MISINFORMATION SERIES VOL. 1: Men's Health, May 2019 - "All Meat. All The Time. Any Questions?"

**Executive Summary / Takeaway Points**

  • Don't do this

  • Carnivorous diets are (supposedly) growing in popularity

  • (Supposed) benefits of eating strictly meat vary widely in diversity and magnitude

Steak? Steak.

Hey Man,

My goal is to ANNIHILATE the infamously perpetuated middle-aged-man who "let himself go"!

In an effort to help the MOST BUSY GUYS POSSIBLE I went to the most recognized and respected authorities in men's health...Men's Health Magazine.

You'd think Men's Health Magazine would have a solid piece (or two) in an issue leading into summer--when office-prone guys like us are inundated with ads galore reminding us that "Summer's right around the corner!"...

Maybe my presumption regarding Men's Health Magazine's goals were off...here's there "Mission Statement" (pulled from Google):

"MEN'S HEALTH IS THE MAGAZINE FOR ACTIVE, SUCCESSFUL, INTELLIGENT MEN WHO WANT TO MAKE THE MOST OF THEIR PHYSICAL, PROFESSIONAL AND EMOTIONAL LIVES. WE GIVE MEN THE TOOLS THEY NEED TO MAKE THEIR LIVES BETTER."

Anyway, Here's My Simple Summary:

The article by Richard Godwin (who writes for "Elle", "The Guardian", and "Travel + Leisure") is a featurette--short & simple.

B.S:

      1. Relief from symptoms of...                    2.         ...& HOW do they know?

a.) autoimmune conditions                              a.) "mostly positive changes"

b.) fatigue                                                     b.) "feels better when exercising"

             c.) depression                                                c.)  .......?

             d.) Alzheimer's

             e.) type-2 diabetes

Helpful:

  1. Establish that without carbs, ketones become the body's fuel supply (Keto diet).

  2. "...anecdotes...are not data. There simply isn't rigorous, long-term scientific research on the carnivore diet yet..."

  3. "Humans can exist on a wide variety of diets..."Godwin sheepishly calls modern carnivores a symptom of "frustrations" caused by "times of uncertainty" in the article's closing paired with a small graphic of nutrient [Vitamins C & E, Fiber, & Folate] equivalences the prospective carnivore should consider.

Valuable info: 3/100

Waste of time: 100/100
